By relaxing the muscles, we are able to lessen the appearance of wrinkles and help prevent new wrinkle lines from forming. Neurotoxins are most often used on forehead lines and crow’s feet (lines around the eye), but can be used in many other places, such as a smile lift for downturned mouth corners, in “smoker’s lines” around the mouth (often with filler), in the neck bands, or around the neckline for our Nefertiti neck lift. They temporarily relax specific facial muscles to soften expression lines and prevent deeper wrinkles from forming. You’ll still look like you just a little smoother, more rested, and less tense.

When will I see results from neurotoxins?

Dysport® typically produces the fastest results, with visible effects in about 2–3 days. Botox® and Xeomin® generally take 3–5 days to begin showing effects. Full results for all products are usually seen within 7–10 days, depending on the product used and the treatment area.

How long do neurotoxins last?

Most treatments last about 3–4 months. However, some clients may metabolize the product more quickly, particularly athletes or individuals with higher muscle activity, while others may experience results for up to 5 months.

Do neurotoxins hurt?

Most clients refer to the feeling as a slight pinch. We use tiny needles to minimize discomfort, and a numbing solution or ice can be applied to sensitive areas if needed. The entire procedure typically takes less than 10 minutes.

Will I look frozen or unnatural after a neurotoxin treatment?

Not at all. At Icon Aesthetics, we specialize in delivering natural-looking results. You’ll appear refreshed and expressive never overdone. Our goal is for others to notice you look great without suspecting you’ve had a procedure.

Is there any downtime with neurotoxins?

There is minimal downtime with neurotoxin treatments. Most clients return to their daily activities right away. Minor redness, swelling, or tiny bumps at the injection sites generally resolve within an hour. For the first 24 hours, we recommend avoiding strenuous workouts, facial massage, lying flat, or consuming alcohol.

What areas can be treated with neurotoxins?

Neurotoxins can address a variety of concerns, including forehead lines, frown lines (also known as glabella or “11s”), crow’s feet, bunny lines along the nose, lip flips or gummy smiles, masseter muscles for jawline slimming or TMJ relief, chin dimpling, and platysmal bands in the neck.

How much do neurotoxins cost?

We charge $12 per unit for Botox® and $4 per unit for Dysport®. Dysport® often requires more units, but the cost per treated area is typically comparable. Your total price will depend on the number of units needed, based on your muscle strength and aesthetic goals. Most treatments range from $200 to $400 per area.

Can I combine neurotoxins with other treatments?

Absolutely. Neurotoxins pair beautifully with dermal fillers, microneedling, or chemical peels and are an excellent foundation for a long-term skin rejuvenation plan.

Are neurotoxins safe?

Yes. When administered by licensed medical professionals, neurotoxins are very safe. They have been FDA-approved for cosmetic use for over 20 years and have a strong safety profile when used as directed.
